"There are many reasons why I love 4300. I know when I go, I am going to get a great workout every time. I love the way I feel after a 4300 workout. Sometimes I go into the workout not feeling great and then feel amazing afterwards. That is because of the great coaches like Krystykka, Jill, and Scott. I also feel really proud of myself that I can do these workouts. I love going every day. I not only feel great but look great too!"

In January of this year, we issued a club-wide challenge, to start a trek across America with us. We stated, "when you attend a cycling class and book your bike through our Stages App, you will start to add up miles." We have been tracking those miles since January, and within the last weeks, three of our members have crossed that finish line, accumulating over 2,600 miles in just 10 months! We want to share with you their experience and what they took away from this monumental accomplishment.

Dana Ford – Dana was the first member to cross the finish line, and to date, has ridden over 3,000 miles. She is an inspiration for members around the club and is never afraid to try something new or reach for something she didn't think possible.

Dana said of this experience, "I learned hard things can be fun. I hated spin more than any other class, but after doing it so much it's my favorite. It's great to see on the Stages App how much I have improved since I started the challenge. Even though I made it across America a while ago, I won't stop because now spinning is like therapy."

Nicole McConkie – Nicole was the mastermind behind this challenge and has naturally led the way to the top. Her passion and experience in cycling has led many to become better cyclists and gain their own passion for the sport. She is committed to helping every member accomplish big things and will help you get there.

"I love having goals. I've learned for myself when I have a really big goal it helps to break it down into smaller goals. Every small effort made led to a big achievement. If you've ever looked at something and thought, there's no way I could do that, I promise there IS a way. In the OAC cycling studio we can accomplish big things together one day at a time. It starts by showing up. Show up for yourself, we ride together and cheer each other on. I hope to see you in the cycling studio. Come share your goals with me!"
-Nicole McConkie

Dr. Neil Stagg – While Neil makes his living as an ER doctor, in his off time he has made cycling his hobby and passion. With his kind and unassuming personality, you maybe wouldn't guess that he is the guy in the corner of the Stages dials, teetering on doubling everyone else's Watt or FTP number. He is strong and inspiring in his consistency and incredible power output.

Neil shared, "I started doing spin classes 22 years ago which then led to taking up road cycling. The Stages program currently used has been a great training tool and has kept me in cycling shape year-round. This cycling challenge has been great motivation to force me to get to the gym. It has been fun having a goal which has been difficult due to the time commitment to achieve it but rewarding in the results."

We have many members getting closer every week. Keep showing up and racking your miles! We will continue to recognize those who complete this challenge. If you haven't tried our cycling classes, now is a great time. Check out the Ogden Athletic Club App for class times and Stages booking links.

Last month, McKenna Martin, one of our rock star Group Fitness Instructors, took over as the Group Fitness Manager at the club. McKenna is a natural fit with her passion for group fitness, her friendly and inviting personality with members and instructors, and her ability to lead in the fitness industry and within our club. We are excited to have her join our management team and are thrilled about the energy and professionalism she will continue to provide to the OAC. Mickenzie Brooks, the previous GFM has not gone far, she will continue as the Assistant Group Fitness Manager. This will allow her to assist McKenna in providing great Group Fitness experiences, while offering her more time to focus on her busy family.

A little about McKenna…

"I have been working at the Ogden Athletic Club since 2014 as a group fitness instructor. I am trained in Body Pump, Les Mills Grit, Barre, and Cycling. I also coach Strength Development in small group training. I love group exercise and the feeling you get working out alongside friends who can push you to the next level! To expand my knowledge, this year I became a certified personal trainer. I have always loved to exercise and move my body. I grew up dancing, power tumbling and cheerleading and have always wanted to encourage others through movement! My husband, Jeff, is my biggest supporter and encourager. I have two awesome daughters who I hope to inspire to be proud of their muscles!"

A tree will soon be placed in the front lobby of the club, and we would love your help in assisting the community this holiday season. Please pick up a gift tag, fill the request, and return the gift to the Front Desk. One by one we can make a great impact for those in need!
