Bring a friend September 11th – 16th to try out the club. All Guest pass fees will be waived. Your guest must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by someone over 18 years old. Bring them to a class, challenge them to a pickleball game, or enjoy a swim. The sky's the limit at the club!

Youth Fitness – How much do they need and when should they start?

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), children aged 6-17 need about an hour of moderate to high intensity exercise daily (1). However, the American Heart Association cited that only 25% of American teens reach that amount (2). There is a long list of reasons for kids to get moving, here are our top 5.

Top 5 Benefits of Youth Exercise:

  1. Strengthens bones, muscles, heart, and lungs.
  2. Improves coordination, balance and flexibility.
  3. Improves mood, concentration, and attention.
  4. Lowers Incidences of Anxiety and Depression.
  5. Increases self-esteem and self-confidence.

We aim to make fitness fun for everyone, and kids are no exception. Starting next week, September 11/12, we will be offering two 6-week sessions of youth fitness, that will not only get your kids moving, but enjoying it!

"I'd like to send a HUGE shoutout to recognize my personal trainer extraordinaire, Haley Lythgoe. She has been beyond fabulous during the more than 2 years she's been helping me. I retired in 2012 and immediately prioritized my health and conditioning. When I started working with Haley I hoped to avoid having a total knee replacement, but eventually I decided I needed to do it while I didn't have any medical issues that would put me in a high risk category.

Haley worked with me, listened to my concerns, and responded with a program that prepared me well for surgery. I had the first knee done mid-March and the second one 3 weeks later. I was in physical therapy for at least 2 months and returned to personal training sessions about 6 weeks ago.

Haley has been supportive and encouraging throughout. I tend to get discouraged but she has been encouraging when that happens. I can see I lost conditioning when I was recovering from surgery but now I'm feeling stronger. I'm positive that my conditioning going into surgery, at 81 years old, was much better than most of my contemporaries, making my recovery much easier. I am blessed to have Haley working with me and the club is fortunate to have a trainer of her caliber."
