Pool Safety Rules

POOL RULES AND EXPLANATIONS  

These are the rules posted on the board and an explanation; please be familiar with all of them

1. Please shower before entering. 

2. No glass containers are allowed in the pool.

3. No food or drink is allowed near the pool, jacuzzi, or steam room.   

    No Shaving. NO OILS. Many members are allergic to oils, and we cannot put them in harm's way.

4. No running or horseplay, including pushing, shoving, dunking, shoulder rides, or throwing people in the pool. No projectiles.

5. No children under 6 years are allowed in the pool area without direct adult supervision.  Lifejackets and floats do not replace adult supervision.  Children under 14 are not allowed in the pool area unless accompanied by a parent in this area (unless Lifeguard on Duty). All children under 6 years or are non-swimmers (meaning they can comfortably swim the width of the pool without floatation devices) must have direct parent supervision (within arm’s length away in the water), even when there is a lifeguard on duty. Floatation devices or a Lifeguard on Duty cannot replace direct child supervision.

6. When no lifeguard is on duty, children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or over.

7. Lap Lanes are for adults 16 years and older or children with lifeguard approval. Lap Lanes are to be shared.  Either split the lane or circle swim.  Please be courteous when entering the lane. 

8. No Hanging or sitting on the ropes.

9. Children in diapers must wear swim diapers with plastic pants over top of them.

10. Only swimwear is allowed in the pool: no cutoff or other types of shorts.

11. Lifeguards are there for your safety. They can make policy changes if it is in the best interest of pool safety. Please respect the lifeguards.


KICK BOARDS - These are only given to adults or children practicing their swimming techniques.

Indoor Age Restrictions—Adult Pool when the outdoor pool is open. Children under 14 must be directly supervised by an adult unless they are swimmers with approval from the lifeguard. 

* Swimmer defined: able to swim to the rope and back comfortably and without floatation devices.

Pool Guidelines


Pool Toys:

•No racquetballs, tennis balls, footballs, or any other projectile that could cause injury to the eye.

•No running or horseplay near the pool area.

•No glass container in the pool area.

•Babies must have swim diapers and plastic pants over top

•Chairs must not be thrown or bent. Members, employees and their children must also obey these rules.

Other Rules

No chicken fighting or people on other people's shoulders.

No hanging on ropes either.

No gum 

Smoking policy:

There is no smoking allowed in any areas of the Club, including outdoor areas

CAUTION

Mandated from the Weber County Health Department-  STATE POOL CODE

• Children under five are prohibited from bathing in a spa or hot tub.

• Elderly persons suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure should consult their physician before using the spa pool.

• Persons suffering from an infectious disease via water may not use the spa pool. Persons using prescription medications should consult their physician before using the spa.

•  Individuals under the influence of alcohol or other impairing chemical substances should not use the spa pool

•  Bathers should not use the spa pool alone

•  Pregnant women should not use the spa, sauna, or steam without consulting their physicians

• People should not spend more than 15 minutes in the spa pool in any session.

• Children under 14 must be accompanied and directly supervised (arm's length away) by at least one responsible adult over 18 when lifeguards are not on duty.

•  Running or engaging in unsafe activities or horseplay in or around the spa pool is prohibited.

HYDRO AEROBICS - During hydro aerobics, the pool is reserved for these participants.
